So many people that I talk to tell me that they have an idea for a business or a product but they never take it forwards. Often the excuses are easily overcome but then another excuse comes into the frame. This site offers a new idea for a business but also hopefully shows you how to take the idea forwards and get started, whatever your financial status.
Who am I?
My name is Brad Emery, I work full time for a Multi-national Insurance Company. I'm based out of Hong Kong, but look after 12 markets. My job includes business development and some trouble shooting. I have been with my current employer for 6 years and prior to that spent 8 years working in banking. My Bachelors degree is in Accountancy and Finance from the University of Greenwich in London.
I have had an entrepreneurial bent since I was at school, where I once got into trouble for undermining the school Tuck Shop. Apart from setting up a number of successful direct marketing and sales related businesses for my employer, I have also bought and sold cars, property, and even car number plates.

We believe in failure
Most successful business owners have failed at least once. It is a learning process, and having the tenacity to bounce back is one of the factors that will ensure your success. We have suggested mainly ideas that are cheap to get started in so that your risk is minimised. This should take away some of the fear factor.
I'll go further and state that I have failed in previous business ventures. I have not stayed in business trading number plates or candy and was terrible at selling cars. The skills and knowledge that I gained from these ventures gave me an advantage in other ventures however. I now understand the importance of marketing and the ideas that can help an OK idea become a great business.
With my current employer I have started businesses in 7 countries and helped to fix troubled businesses in 3 countries. I have worked on different business models and within very different legal environments with extreme differences in the working practices of our various partners but all of these businesses have gone on to succeed.
The businesses that I have started, rebuilt and fixed for my employer generate $100's of millions a year in sales. You will only reap the "real" benefits of this kind of success if you get into business for yourself.
